These are full-time positions and the location is GTA (travelling to job site is required).


S&P Consultants Ltd is seeking Geotechnical Instrumentation Engineers/Scientists/Technologists with strong experience in providing Infrastructure Monitoring Services (IMS) to support our growing business including automated data acquisition systems and remote sensing.  The ideal candidate will have proven IMS-related project management skills and a track record for delivering geotechnical IMS services on design, construction projects. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide IMS-related project management and support on projects during the design and construction phase
  • Project and task management
  • Performing IMS data requisition and analysis
  • Development and production of IMS-related plans, profiles, and cross-sections utilizing MicroStation or AutoCAD software
  • Development of IMS-related specifications
  • Provide client management for existing and new strategic clients
  • Contribute to Company’s public profile by actively participating in leadership and technical roles in professional organizations, including presenting on IMS capabilities
  • Communicate project conditions and potential solutions to technical engineering staff
  • Efficient at balancing multiple concurrent tasks, responsibilities, and commitments
  • Must be willing to travel; some overnight travel should be expected

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IMS-relevant field, Master’s preferred
  • Prior experience with IMS services in construction projects
  • Ability to navigate investigation and construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets,  MicroStation, and data management computer programs  
  • Very good oral and written communications skills
  • Strong professional work ethic and desire to perform at a high level
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and well-organized
  • Effective analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to conduct business travel
