Founded in 2023 with funding by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, this 8-week program allows women interested in following a career in construction an opportunity to meet with trades professionals that are leaders in their fields.

Requirements

Prior to acceptance into the program, applicants will undergo an assessment process to evaluate their proximity to the labour market and determine if construction trades are a suitable career choice for them. This assessment will focus on their employment readiness and alignment with career goals in the construction industry.”

Exploring Pathways to a Career in Construction:

Our program offers extensive exposure to various construction trades, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully secure apprenticeships in their chosen fields.”

Through this program, participants will:

Explore Diverse Construction Trades:
- Gain hands-on experience and insight into different construction trades, including carpentry, drywall, floor installation, framing, concrete pouring, masonry, and more.
- Understand the unique skills, tools, and techniques associated with each trade.
Navigate Apprenticeship Opportunities:
- Learn about the structure and benefits of apprenticeships in the construction industry.
- Receive guidance on how to apply for apprenticeships, including crafting compelling applications and preparing for interviews.
- Understand the expectations and responsibilities of apprentices within the trade.
