Explore our programs to find the perfect fit for your aspirations this year.

TradeLinx Pre-Apprenticeship Training

TradeLinx is a 12-week sector-focused pre-apprenticeship training program designed for Ontario Works (OW) recipients aged 18-30 who are interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades or construction industry. The program provides participants with essential skills, health and safety certifications, and hands-on experience to enhance employability in a competitive job market. With upcoming cohorts in 2025, this is the program for you if you’re looking to kickstart a career in the skilled trades.

Women in Construction

LEC’s Women in Construction (WIC) program empowers women to establish themselves in the skilled trades construction industry. This experiential pre-apprenticeship training includes 8 weeks of full-time training, job placement, and post-program skill building and future planning. Participants receive 10 health and safety certifications, including Globally Harmonized WHMIS, Working at Heights, and Introduction to Hand Tools. You can learn more on the WIC program page.

Employment Services

LEC’s Employment Services program offers high-quality support to individuals, employers, and the community. Job seekers can access specialized workshops, education, and information on Employment Ontario training programs. If you’re an employer, you can benefit from accessing a pool of pre-screened candidates, receive assistance with hiring and training, explore job posting venues, and access to financial incentives to offset training costs.

Basic Digital Literacy Classes

Our Basic Digital Literacy classes help adults improve their digital technology skills, essential for today’s job market. Using a social justice and workers’ rights approach, these classes also cover reading, writing, spelling, and basic math to enhance overall employability.
