Golden Mile Begins Recruiting for Summer 2023

Launch your career in the construction industry when you join the Golden Mile Trades Training program with LEC. This 6-week in-class training is followed by 8 weeks of paid placement ($23/hr) to train on Aecon’s Hydro-Vac trucks. Training starts in August 2023.

Golden Mile Trades Training Program Cohort Begins Today

The Labour Education Centre is proud to welcome a new cohort of the Golden Mile Trades Training Program. Starting today, a new class of participants will launch their careers in the construction industry through in-class instruction, hands-on training, and paid placements.

Graduation Day – Dec 2022

Participants at the Labour Education Centre began the new year with a bang as students in three programs: TradeLinx, Youth Employment Services (YES), and the Toronto Community Benefits Network (TCBN) all graduated from their respective programs.

Golden Mile News Update

Aecon-Golden Mile (A-GM), a community-led joint venture between the Centre for Inclusive Economic Opportunity Golden Mile (CIEO) (51%) and Aecon (49%), is expanding economic opportunities and helping local residents in the Greater Golden Mile area of Scarborough, Ontario overcome employment barriers and launch thriving careers in the trades.
